Verbal Abuse at Work? Listen to the Christian Bale Uncensored Audio

Liz over at The Inside Job has an interesting post on bully behavior. Basically, actions that "intimidates, degrades, offends, or humiliates a worker, often in front of others. Bullying behavior creates feelings of defenselessness in the target and undermines an individual’s right to dignity at work."

On the receiving end of Bale's tirade was Shane Hurlbut, the Director of Photography on the new Terminator film.

Below is the uncensored version of the alleged Bale audio. NOT work safe.

Is this a verbal reprimand from someone who is passionate about what he's doing or is he being nothing more than a high school yard bully?

Wowza. I had heard that Mr. Bale was a bit rough on others, but this is over the line.

Abuse. Pure and simple.

Anyone who is passionate about their work would respect their colleagues and the people who afford them the opportunity to live such luxurious lifestyles. Bale's movies should be boycotted. I for one will not give him a dime and urge the movie going public to do the same.

I agree with Mark; this mutts' movies should be boycotted. I can't say enough about the sheer cowardice, bullying and faux macho crap that Bale displayed. Where in the hell was the Director to take charge of the situation? Isn't the lighting guy who was the object of this abuse in a union?

And, best of all, where are the Hollywood elite, the Gliterrati, to rise to the defense of a working stiff?
They're too busy defending terrorists, that's where! Screw 'em all!

What I hate is when someone goes off like this and is not held accountable for it by someone else. He has no boss. He is to "valuable to their pockets" to fire him or at least threaten to do so if he doesn't apologize and never act that way again. I have been the victim of horrible abuse at work. I have seen it my whole life. I hate it. I have stood up against it until one job where I could not afford to lose my job. I could not afford to stand up for my self respect, my dignity. I had to take it and take it month after month for almost two years. I saw him do it to others. Every one was afraid. But he was the president and owner of the company. He answered to no one. He got away with it every day. What Bale is doing is extreme. I wonder if he is always this big of an asshole. Certainly their must be someone who will take him down, put him in his place, intimidate him, humiliate him, all in front of his working peers. And then not get hired because he is a jerk to other people. I hate assholes. He needs manditory therapy, group therapy with some guys much bigger than him. Unfortunately, that is the only language bitches like him understand. They only respect physical strength. They are such idiots that in their pea size brains they think that the person who is
right is the one who can beat everyone else up. Daaaeeeyyyaaaa. OK boss.
